By Zak Hart

Constipation is very common among all people young and old alike. You are not suffering alone. Anyone who has experienced it knows that it can make you irritable, but there are constipation remedies to help you out there. Causes of constipation can range from a change in your behavior to simply getting older. A change in behavior can be something related to a change in your daily routine or a stressful event. Pregnancy is another cause of constipation.Age related problems arise because as everyone ages our processes become slower. Sometimes we just need a little boost to get the process of producing a bowel movement going.

If you have been doing some form of activity on a daily basis such as running, walking, or swimming and have stopped this can cause your body to not have a normal bowel movement. Being active keeps everything moving along. Your blood flows better and your food moves through your body faster. Therefore maintaining a regular exercise routine is something that can help prevent constipation in the first place.

Sometimes changing the type of food you or eat or the times you eat can throw your body off schedule. I have a friend that when she drinks her morning cup of coffee she knows she is going to have to go use the restroom. If she does not, she immediately thinks something is wrong and tries to figure out what she did or did not eat the day before. She is basically off the whole day.

Another change to be aware of is when women become pregnant they may not even realize that they will soon become constipated. They almost go hand in hand. You have another life growing inside of you taking up residency. There is no longer any room for your organs. This makes it harder for your body to digest food and get rid of waste.

Aging is just a part of life. A lot of things change as we get older. Our gastrointestinal system is just one of many things that begin to slow down. The process of excreting waste from our bodies becomes dependent on finding the remedies.

When it comes to treating your constipation you want to make sure that you find the right thing that will work for you. It is going to depend on what is causing your constipation and your body. Exercise is a really good way to get the digestive system going. If you can, go for a walk after dinner. That would be really great along with getting extra fluids in your body. You should drink plenty of water everyday.

Adding extra fiber to your diet everyday will provide that boost needed. You get extra fiber in many ways, whether it be through foods such as yoghurt and cereal, or through the use of daily supplements. Gone are the days of prunes being the only source of getting extra fiber. Apples, bananas, and dark green vegetables are another good source of fiber. These are all just basic items that you can purchase at almost any grocery store.

If you really need immediate relief get a product that can you buy over the counter to relieve constipation. You have plenty of options to choose from there as well. You have stool softeners and there are chewable products that should provide what you need. If you can try and source a natural remedy as there will be less chance of side effects this way.

Hopefully, one or two of these suggestions works for you. After trying some of these remedies without success please contact your physician. There can be other reason for being constipated that may not be remedied this way. You may need medical assistance. - 30414
