Did She Happen To Hear The One About The Hemroid Girl?

Have you seen the TV program about the Hemroid girl? Wait, is not all that bad. It is really funny actually. One of my favorite situation comedies is Just Shoot Me. It is about a make believe fashion magazine and the zany staff and the owner of the magazine. The model photographer Elliot is lucky enough not only to take photographs of the models but dates them and other great looking women.

Elliot in this episode is dating an attractive girl who lands a commercial for a hemorrhoid cream. She is so excited she has to rush to tell Elliot. She puts in the tape in his office VCR and he watches in shock as his girlfriend describes the way the cream works with the help of animation on the area the creme is used on. But Elliot feigns excitement and pretends to be happy for her.

When he begins to order lunch the waiter recognizes his date and starts telling her how much she helped him solve his problem. Elliot loses his appetite. Finally towards the end of the episode Elliot comes to terms with her success and is actually happy for her. Why they are leaving his office to go to dinner he sneezes into his handkerchief, he excuses himself, puts the hankie back into his pocket and makes his way out of the room.

He does come to terms with it however and is willing to accept her for who she is, the hemorrhoid girl. On their way to dinner he pulls out his handkerchief and sneezes into. He says excuse me and places it back into his pocket. His girlfriend is disgusted by this and breaks up with him over a dirty handkerchief. Elliot retorts saying she has her nerve, her being the hemorrhoid girl, breaking up over a dirty handkerchief. She replies that she knows she is famous now but she cannot bring herself to accept Elliot and his dirty habits. She leaves him. Dennis the office secretary and company clown takes this time to make several puns related to hemorrhoids at Elliot's expense.

Of course as humorous as this episode is, there is nothing humorous about hemorrhoids. It can be a very painful condition. And even though it is not a condition that is life threatening, people get worried when they develop the symptoms.

When people see blood after wiping after a bowel movement, who would blame them for getting concerned. My First Low Calorie HCG Day

This was Day three for me on the HCG diet. And since the first two days are "loading" days it was my first day on the VLCD. All the homeopathic HCG reviews I've read indicated that it would be tough and I believed them, but it was quite different to actually do it. The reviews also said that it was tough to drink enough water. And again...it was. I'll have to work on drinking more water; a lot more water!

When I weighed myself first thing this morning (the day after Thanksgiving) I was up one pound. That left me at 171 pounds. My weight always goes back and forth a bit so it didn't surprise me; especially since I've been "loading" for the last 2 days. After I weighed myself I took my HCG drops along with the B-Total drops I bought to go along with the diet. First thing I did was set the kids up with an after Thanksgiving day feast. I had to get rid of all the leftovers that I wasn't going to be able to touch. I tossed everything they didn't eat. For the most part, diet and exercise are not what holds women back from reaching their "lose arm flab" goal. The truth is that diet and exercise are actually the least important aspects of reaching sexy arm stardom!

I struggled with up and down motivation for a very long time when trying to lose arm flab. So called self help books and motivational speakers only provided temporary motivation that would always end up fading away.

What was my saving grace? The one and only David Burns M.D. He wrote an excellent book which provided easy to use methods for optimizing thought processes. Central to his method, was the identification of major thought distortions.

So without further delay, here are some major things you need to look out for if you want lasting motivation when learning how to lose arm flab:

1. Pressure phrases. Unfortunately, the "pain is weakness leaving the body" culture we live in has perpetuated the existence of pressure phrases. Never tell yourself you "should, must or oughta" go workout. Doing so will make you feel pressured and apathetic. Over the long run, these types of phrases will murder your motivation.

2. Labeling statements. If you ever find yourself attaching a label to a hiccup on your part, stop immediately. Labels (i.e., loser, worthless, slob, sloth) create the illusion that there is an internal problem with you that can be fixed. Instead of using labels, describe the situation that led to the hiccup so that you can avoid it in the future.

3. Minimizing statements. This type of distortion will make you go from warrior to worrier. Why? Because when you minimize, you see your potential as being much much smaller than it actually is. Do you know anyone that seems to have everything going for them but is constantly putting themselves down? This would be a minimizer. The key here is to not assume you don't have what it takes until you've actually tried.
